The other shareholder of Neoenergía, the pension fund of the Bank of Brazil, Previ (49%), has also informed Iberdrola of its willingness to study its offer and close a sale as soon as possible.

The operation would be facilitated by the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), which would enter as a strategic partner with 12% , replacing the Bank of Brazil . Sources close to Iberdrola tell ECD that the company is negotiating to try to improve its current situation in the Brazilian market and reorganize its participation in this country. Sánchez Galán already warned in the presentation of the results of the first half of the year at the end of July, that Iberdrola intends to "achieve the majority of Neoenergia in order to consolidate the results globally." After the purchase of Neoenergia and the merger with Elektro, Iberdrola would be placed in a leadership position in the Brazilian market. According to company estimates, it would obtain 6,400 million in revenue, an Ebitda of 1,508 million euros, a net profit of 919 million, and in total, almost 11 million electricity supply points in the main cities of the country.
